About The Author

Hello, and welcome to Chrysalis Writing Service, the website of freelance writer Pam Snowdon. I wake up in the morning itching to write something, anything, and wondering "what if....I wrote about (that dream, that idea, what he/she just said on the morning news, you can just fill in the blank here...)."

I remember the pivotal moment in Grade One when the light clicked on. Sitting at my desk with the Dick and Jane reader open in front of me, I was stunned when the assortment of letters on the page suddenly swam into formation - See Spot! See Spot Run! Look Jane. Spot can run! My love affair with the written word began long before that, however, because I was very fortunate to have stories read to me at bedtime, and so drifted off to sleep on a magical carpet ride of imagination and the idea that life offered as many possibilities as there were stories and books. I couldn't decipher the text but the words painted the most delicious pictures in my mind. Through writing, I am still that inquisitive little girl who believes in the power of words to open doors into understanding, adventure, learning, and exploration.

Today I might write a newspaper or magazine article, maybe another chapter of the Great Canadian Novel promised to my inspirational Grade Six teacher, Edna Bell, or perhaps I will just vent and ponder in my personal journal. If you check out my "samples" page, you will see that my work has been published in newspapers and magazines, and among other assignments  I may be researching an article on parenting or crafting a business profile. No matter, I'll be writing today, whatever form it takes. And I can help you transform your ideas into words, too.
